The ICO's solution

The Information Commissioner’s Office is the UK watch dog for data privacy and is responsible for advising, monitoring compliance and handling complaints on the EU cookie law.

Below is the ICO's cookie solution, you can also see how they handled the privacy page here. Interestingly they put the onus on the user to manage cookies using their browser and by visiting the third party site for managing the Google Analytics cookie.

I'm a digital marketer in professional services and like just about everyone else in digital, I've had to wrestle with the EU cookie directive, what it means and what I need to do about it. I've found a bunch of good sources for information, with interviews, examples, videos and seen how it's been handled on various websites. What would have made life easier for me would be to have everything in one place. So I guess I finally have a subject for starting my first blog.

I hope you find it useful as a resource and forum for discussion.
